Woah! Watch those Runaway Fingers as they travel up and down the necks of the stringed instruments. Based on a simple stepwise motive in D Major, this piece is a fun finger workout with irregular phrase lengths, clever use of pizzicato, and a melody that seems to spin out of control while remaining in first position. It truly puts the “fun” in “fundamentals.”
